Intense Pulsed Light is more modern than simple laser. IPL is a pulse of "Broadband" light at the same wavelength as a laser but is non-coherent.  Depending upon the wavelength head used, different results can be obtained. The most amazing thing is, collagen can be stimulated in the dermis and sub-dermis to rejuvenate the skin.   The Lumenis One has a large treatment head and can take about five or ten minutes to go over every square inch of your face. The is considered a "pass".  Dr. Johnson does three passes at three different wavelengths to concentrate on three different layers of the face.  Doing this at each treatment session optimizes the results, especially with the Lumenis One, the gold standard of IPL treatment. This is what a photofacial treatment is all about. Rosacea, sun damage, spider veins of the face, redness of the face, freckles, sun-spots, as well as hair is removed.  The skin is left exceedingly soft. 4 - 6 treatments are recommended for optimal and long-lasting results. After your last treatment, collagen stimulation continues for another six months.
